Trip to the zoo

After a great doctors report for Heidi we celebrated at the Memphis Zoo. It was a hot day, but the kids had a great time, and we enjoyed having cousin Alex with us! Check out how close and personal we were able to get with the polar bears, and it was nice and cool in there. We spent a long time with the bears!

Visit to Mama Maes and Daddy Bills

We spent a few days in Tuscaloosa visiting Mama Mae and Daddy Bill. We always love to relax and play card with them. Mama Mae always feeds us way too good!!

Race number

Heidi was serious about getting her race number on!

She ran her mile with Don in around 13 minutes, and Brody ran with me around 9 minutes. We had lots of fun, and even stopped to pick up discarded pennies along the way!

While Don and I ran, Brody and Heidi went to a car show at the festival with Nana and Poppy. Brody fell in love with this car!

Helen Keller Festival

On June 28 th we spent the day in Tuscumbia, Alabama at the Helen Keller Festival. We all ran in a race. Don and I ran the 5 Miler and the kids ran the Mile Fun Run. We spent the rest of the day hot and sweaty at the festival waiting for the Miracle Worker play to begin that night. Heidi is a big Helen Keller fan and has even learned some sign language, but after the busy day she fell asleep at the beginning of the second act. Does this mean we have to do it again next year?
